Every Special Cake starts with a celebration.
Whether you're planning a birthday, wedding, graduation, baby shower, anniversary, or another special occasion, every celebration is different—and the cake should feel just as personal.
If you're thinking about ordering a Special Cake, we've put together this guide to help you through the process. From choosing a design to knowing when to place your order, here's everything you'll want to know before getting started.
Finding the Right Design
Every Special Cake is made by hand, so no two cakes are ever exactly the same.
Reference photos help us understand the overall style you're looking for, while each cake is finished using WOW Bakery's own decorating techniques and fresh ingredients. A few things to note before choosing your design:
Inspiration photos are always welcome.
Character cakes and sculpted 3D cakes are not available.
Fresh flowers vary by season and availability, so arrangements may differ slightly from reference photos.
Because our cakes are finished with fresh cream, very dark or highly saturated colours may appear softer than they do in reference images.
How Many Guests Will You Be Serving?
One of the most common questions we receive is,
"What size cake should I order?"
The easiest way to choose is simply by telling us approximately how many people you'll be serving.
We'll recommend a cake size that's appropriate for your celebration.
As a general guide:
An 8-inch cake serves approximately 10–12 people.
A 10-inch cake serves approximately 14–16 people.
A 12-inch cake serves approximately 18–20 people.
A 12" + 8" two-tier cake serves around 35 people.
A 12" + 10" two-tier cake serves around 40 people.
A 40 × 60 cm Slab Cake serves 90 - 100 people.
If you're planning a larger celebration, slab cakes are available for larger groups.
Please note that 8 inches is the smallest size available for our Special Cakes.
If you're unsure which size is right for your event, simply let us know your guest count—we'll be happy to recommend the best option.

Strawberry Fresh Cream with Vanilla Sponge
Strawberry Fresh Cream with Chocolate Sponge

These are the flavour combinations currently offered for all Special Cake orders.
The Little Details Make It Yours
Sometimes it's the smallest details that make a cake feel truly personal.
Pearls, butterflies, ribbons, Lettering, fresh flowers, or fresh fruit can completely change the look of the same design.
If you have a colour palette or theme for your celebration, feel free to let us know when you enquire. We'll do our best to create a cake that complements your event beautifully.
How Is Pricing Determined?
Every Special Cake is made to order, so pricing is based on the overall design rather than the cake size alone.
Your quote is prepared based on factors such as:
Cake size
Design style
Decorating details
Fresh flowers or specialty decorations
Lettering and finishing touches
Two cakes of the same size may be priced differently depending on the design and level of decoration.
Once we know your preferred design and event details, we'll prepare a personalised quote for you.
When Should I Place My Order?
Because every Special Cake is made to order, we recommend contacting us at least seven days before your preferred pickup date.
Orders can be placed up to three months in advance.
We don't accept bookings beyond three months, as production schedules, seasonal flowers, and ingredient availability have not yet been confirmed.
If your event falls during graduation season, wedding season, Mother's Day, Christmas, or another busy period, we recommend getting in touch as early as possible.
